Information systems in an enterprise

Before going in details we should understand what is information system and how it works
in organization, it basically consists of hardware, software, data, people and mandatory and
important procedures that all integrated and work together to produce the final outcome in form of
information which is useful for the enterprise. So, all of these key feature work together in
enterprise and produce the needed outcomes.

So now moving to the functional units of enterprise those are accounts and finance, HR, Research
and development, manufacturing and production, sales, marketing, channel distribution, customer
service and IT.

So now moving to the most important part that how information system works with different
functional units in organization. For example, if we talk accounts and finance unit in these daily transactions are recorded by the accounts software along with that billing is done by different
software like POS, ERP software is also used and different software are used for making
budgeting, forecast and other reports.

HRM software are use by HR unit for maintain the data of employee there HR also payroll
software for salary and other purposes.

Moving to manufacturing and production there are multiple information system which make work
efficient and high quality like CAD, CAM, CAE and many others like material requirement
planning which helps in monitoring and control the process which is related to production it also
helps in making schedule and prioritizing work flow.

Moving to Sales department their organist ion use different software sale force like sale force
automation which helps them to carry important digital tools with them which will make their
work easier in front of client.

In channel distribution different software are use which help organization to keep system smooth
like it helps them in a way that it tell about the inventory in warehouse, inventory in outlets, when
to send new supply, manage the demand requested by customer and many other benefits like
tracking of product and help making analyses for future steps.

Customer relation department software like Customer interaction management are used to maintain
the record of conversation done with customer, maintain their data, resolve their query etc.

In it department it is used to help in making decision making future decision like updates are
required in current system, either its time to shift to new software or modification is required in IT
channels. It also helps in website management in collecting the data and using it efficiently in
future and saving it too in most secure manner.
Almost in every functional unit of organization Information system is used in some or other way.

IT system of a human resource company is being replaced, what reason, might initiate this change?

So the decision is made to replace the current IT system of human resource company there
could be multiple reasons for that. Now they will go with efficient HRM software which has
multiple features in it like Data management of employees, payroll, attendance management, loans
and advance management, policy making and many other feature which is required by HR.
Decision of changing the current software will be done by higher management but request would
have been made by HR of firm. Major reasons for changing current HR system would be that
feature are less, software could be outdated, in current system HR have to enter data manually and
make reports manually, too many limitations in current system, not supporting different policies
and file, unable to manage and maintain the data of employees, not efficient, Time consuming
software, new software will give competitor advantage, Integration with ERP software is not
possible, issues in making pay rolls, making mistakes in attendance, new software can allow them
to store data in cloud space, new software allows employees to mark attendance when they out for
office work, new software allow them mark attendance offline, new software is efficient and less
costly along with maintenance and it could be many factors for changing current software.

So the phases of system development are called software development life cycle. This starts when
a user feels the lacking feature in current system so he makes a formal request to the management. So, the whole process includes 5 stages and those are planning, analysis, design, implementation
and operation, support and security. So in planning stage request is been reviewed and understand the main issue, them management starts to prioritize the requests because some times there are multiple requests but limited source are there then management allocate the resources according to request and proper team is form the development of new system. For suppose new HR system is require so HR will make the request it will be reviewed, resources will be allocated and them team will be for to make HR system.

Moving to Analysis stage in this proper analysis is done about the main issue and the team do
investigation. They properly study the current system, find the lacking feature, analyses the
requirement of request made and then make a recommendation.

Now comes the designing part in this if they need new software of hardware so they buy that or in
short take them on board to design a accurate system as demanded. Then they will develop the
proper system according to each minor detail which is required and which will be helpful.

Now comes the implementation stage in this a new program is developed according to requirement
some times previous is modified according to requirement. Now comes the turn to install the new
system and test to get know about the efficacy. If it gets approved by management so now
employees will be trained and after training it will be used in organization.

Last stage is operating, support and security in this stage maintenance work is taken into
consideration, make it secure so that there are less chance of harm to organization and monitor the
performance of this software.

Database management software

DBMS: An Intro to Database Management Systems – BMC Software | Blogs

A Database management software is also known as DBMS. The purpose of this software is
to manage the data for individual or an organization. It is design to collect data, define the data,
manipulate it, modify that, retrieve it when needed and properly maintain and manage the data in
database. For suppose we have DBMS so we have a computerized database in which all the data is
define so we will enter data according to requirement, edit the data if needed, maintain the
database according to current demand, when we need some data so we will retrieve and sort the
data from DBMS and in the end, we can make different forms, reports from the particular
database. So, this the proper explanation of database management software and what it offers to it
users. There are multiple characteristics of valuable information which includes accurate
information, verifiable data, timely, organized, easily accessible, useful data and cost effective. For
example if we are making Data base so we should keep in mind that data we are entering should be
high quality and accurate, it should be complete in every means, it should quite unique so that you
can have quality in your work and which gain you competitor advantage, it should be maintain
time to time if some data is missing so you should complete that, if there is some changes in data
so you change it on time if some data is relevant so you should delete the data because it will
increase the quality and effectiveness of work, data should be cost effective and properly
organized.

Cyber-crime

19 Alarming Cybercrime Statistics For 2019 - IT Supply Chain

Cyber crime is basically an illegal activity it involves computers, different computing or
digital devices, computer networks. There is proper punishment for cyber crime like heavy fines or
some time a cyber crime can cause you to go behind the bars. It can be security threat to any one,
data theft, network attack, frauds, scam, software manipulation, hacking of personal or an
organization device, harassment and many other threats to individual or group of people. There
are many type of cyber crime or attacks which are common in today’s era like phishing (in this a
fake e mail is use to get personal information which will lead to theft of personal data and other
information that is directly related to individual or an organization. ) , hacking of individual or
organization server or devices in this you can access the device and do anything hacker want like
they when delete important data, they can access personal information like bank information etc,
terrorism or hate speech can be done which is big offense, financial attack like hacking personal or
organization finance account and transfer the assets and many other theft, Harassment and
bullying is also common type of cyber crime these days, Leaking personal or organization data,
sharing data with unknown agencies or underground or blacklisted people, social security threat is
also common, Trojan horse is also type of cyber crime, Rootkit in this intruder can access the
device from any location in the world and it is in form of program hidden in device, Ransom
attack is also common which part of cyber extortion in which criminal demand money, virus attack,
interfering someone social space or continuously interfering and threat them and many other
type of cyber crime exists as technology get advances. Cyber crime can put a negative impact on a
well-established organization in a way that criminal can theft the personal and sensitive
information and share with the rival organization which cause many problems, information can be
shared with agencies which can to different problems, company could face financial loss too,
money theft will also be possible, their server could crash, their whole system can be manipulated,
if organization is listed in stock exchange so they can loose share price value the whole
organization will be in trouble, most importantly sensitive information and assets will we in great
trouble because every organization have some sort of data they don’t want others to see so it will
be in great trouble, people will not trust that organization because they think if cant protect them
selves how they will protect our data, Organization may loose the face value, whole organization may get defame in market. So well established organization should implement strongest firewall or
many other techniques which can prevent them from cyber attack because if they got attacked it
will cost them a big loss.

Buying center

Before going into detail, we should understand the main concept of buying center. It contains a bunch of people with different roles for finalizing purchase decision either we talk about organization or any thing else. It can also be defined as decision making unit. This group contains Users, Initiators, Influencers, Buyers, Gatekeepers, Decider and Approver. So, know we will discuss the roles each individual play in decision making process.

Initiators: These are the people who generate the request or in other words we can say they figure out the issue or the need of improvisation. For example, if talk about an organization. In that organization there is Graphic designing department and in department designers are facing problems in doing their work because the system they are using are too old and doesn’t have that particular specs that designers need. So, he will raise this issue. In this situation the designer who figured out the issue and generate the request to buy a new system so that organization work should be done without any problem is initiator.

Users: Users are the members who will be using or you can say consuming the services or products which will be purchased. So, it is important to take their feedback and requirement about the product they want to use. For example, if take an example of a university. Need of new computers are required for the lab because the current ones are outdated or they are not working properly. So now the computers are purchased so in this case user will be those for whom this purchase is made those are students, faculty members and management so all of them will be users

Influencers: they are the ones who define specification or give suggestion related to situation and what type of product or service will be best for an organization or individual too. For example, am looking to buy a new DSLR for my YouTube channel so I will watch reviews of different influencers who knows pros and cons of different devices. So, the review and recommendation of that influencer will influence my decision making.

Approvers: In simple words if we want to understand the role of approver is that they are the on who has the authority to allow the purchase or not. For example, in an organization a need of new machinery is raised and manager conveyed all the relevant points to CEO of the firm. If CEO didn’t convince by the pointers so he will not approve the purchase but on the other hand he is convinced so he will approve the purchase and finance will a lot fund for new purchase. So, CEO is the approver.

Buyers: He is the one who will find supplier and arrange purchase terms. For example, in supermarket there is department of apparel. Now there is a need of new purchase of apparel for new season so now purchase manager will look for apparel suppliers and will confirm terms and conditions to purchase. In this purchase manager is buyer.

Gatekeepers: they are the ones to control flow of information between with members of decision-making group or buying center. For example, if we want to meet chairman of an organization to have a deal so we will communicate his secretary because he is the key player who pass the information to CEO of that organization so the secretary is the gatekeeper in this situation.

Difficulties faced by Pakistan at the time of its Independence.

The Partition of India and Creation of Pakistan

In 1947 when Pakistan came to existence it started to face problem from day 1. Alliance of British
and India increases difficulties for newly made Pakistan. Nehru thought Pakistan will not be able to
stand on its feet for long but Pakistanis proved him wrong.

Administrative Problems:

Pakistan faced its first problem an administrative capital was to be chosen to establish a
government. Karachi was then selected as capital. Pakistan built it’s administration from scratch and
due to lack of officers and staff in Pakistan itself, these people were brought from cities like Delhi.
As there was no such already built infrastructure for administrative works, so interim offices were setup in public buildings and barracks as they had to kick start from somewhere. There were no
proper buildings and machines so officials face many difficulty in working. There were some
political issues between political people so Quaid e azam resolved that issue.

Riots & Refugees:

The worst kind of violence was seen in Punjab when it was divided. As half of the population there
was of Sikhs, so Hindus leaders influenced them against Muslims. As a result many Muslims were
killed there especially the poor ones. Muslim women were raped and infants killed. Approximately
6,600,000 Muslims migrated to Pakistan and 5,500,000 Hindus & Sikhs migrated to India.
Managing the migrants coming to Pakistan, like settling them, was a big problem. So camps were
setup near border to accommodate them temporarily. Also around 500,000 Muslims were abducted or
killed during migration.

Division of military assets:

When it came to dividing the military assets of subcontinent, India acted in quite an unfair manner.
For example India refused to send over military assets to Pakistan and only 47 ton of military assets
were sent instead of 165000 tons (which was agreed to be handed over to Pakistan). And out of 2
planes only one plane for air force was given to Pakistan. As most of the gun factories were in Indian territory, it was initially agreed that 100 trains (60000 ton of ammunition) will be sent to
Pakistan but Pakistan only received 3 trains which were amusingly filled with rocks and bricks.
Because all of this out armed forces faced a lot of problems.

Territorial Dispute:

As the boundary was distributed unfairly and Radcliffe award proved to be treacherous, some areas
like Gurdaspur, Ferozpur, Jullandar and Kashmir were included inside Indian boundary, even
thought they had Muslim in majority in those areas. India claimed that maharaja of Kashmir agreed
to join with India. As a result another big massacre occurred. another big massacre occured as a
tribal movement sparked against Indian forces in Kashmir. And the headworks of two main rivers
Sutlej and Ravi were in India at Ferozpur and Madopur respectively.

Division of Assets:

Pakistan demanded 20 percent of Total capital but after discussion they agreed to give 17.5 percent to
Pakistan which is approx. 750 million . Till date Pakistan received 200 million rupees from India.
because Nehru said that Pakistan will use this money against India in war.

Water Dispute:

Indus water dispute was a major dispute because Pakistan major economy based on agriculture and
head work which was Ferozpur headwork’s control Ravi River was in control of India. They stopped
water and because of it Pakistan face shortage of water. This issue was resolved in 1960 through indus
water treaty according to it Ravi, Satlaj, Bias were given to india and Indus, Jahlum, Chanab were
given to Pakistan. But India didn’t follow the treaty violate it.

Other Issues:

Only 34 industries were given to Pakistan out of 961 which is quite low number. Only 69 branches of
banks were working in Pakistan out of 487 which was a major set back too. Princely states like
Junagarh, Mangrol, Manawar decide to join Pakistan but india forcefully took control on them. There
were electricity problems. Quaid declare Urdu as official language and it also causes issue in the state.

Reasons behind the War of Independence 1857.

WAR OF INDEPENDENCE - History of USA #3 — Steemit

There were several reasons behind the war of independence in 1857. It was the last major try
by Indians to remove British East India Company through power of military forces. People of Sub
continent were forced to take this major step. Main reasons to initiate war was political, Economic
and religious. If we talk about political reasons first so we can say that Britishers expanded their control in the
name of security of East India Company. They start grabbing the lands through different methods
like doctrine of lapse introduced by lord Dalhousie. According to doctrine of lapse any princely
state or territory under the British East India Company would automatically be annexed if the ruler
died without a male heir. They declared English as the official language and removed Persian.
Indians wants to take back power in their own hands because they believe they have a right to rule
on their own lands not those who came for trading. Britishers excluded Indians from all high level
jobs. In 1849 lor dalhouise announced that Bhadur shah zafar will not be allowed to stay in Red
fort and they forced him to move near qutub minar. In 1856 lord canning announced that after death
of bhadur shah zafar his successors will not be allowed to rule here.
Another major reason was military causes. Salary of seapoys were too low as compared to British
soldiers in the army. There were few chance for them to get promoted to higher ranks. An
agreement was force fully signed by Indian soldiers that if needed they have to fight out side India
India and according to Hindu soldiers its very impossible to leave their mother land and fight outside
which also create disturbance. British introduced cartridge greased with cow or pig fats, which was
not allowed in Hindu and Muslim religion. Soldiers have to chew the cartridge before use so they revolted against British. Teaching of Bible was made compulsory so Soldiers were afraid that they
will be forced to convert in Christianity. Muslim soldiers were quite angry because were forced to
fight against their Muslim brothers in Sindh and Afghanistan.
Religious reasons also force to start the war. Britishers were trying to spread Christianity and it was
became dangerous in eyes of Hindus and Muslims. They also ban satti and child marriages.
Widows were allowed to re marry and this made Hindus quite angry. Converters were allowed to
inherit the property of family.
Education also became the reason of revolt because English was made the language for education
and removed Sanskrit and Persian. Bible was thought and co-education was introduced. Parda was
ban in school.
Economic reasons were there to initiate the war against Britishers. Indians have to pay heavy taxes.
Farmers were forced to grow only cash crops which effected Bengali which cause many deaths in
Bengal because of food shortage. Indian industry was forced to destroy because of heavy taxes on
their good and British goods were cheap because no duties were imposed on them. Due to different
steps taken by Britishers unemployment rate of Indians were getting larger every day. There were many reasons for the failure of war of Independence 1857. Lack of unity was the major
reason for the failure. They don’t have common purpose to fight for which cause their strength to
decrease. Muslims were fighting to regain power and bring Mughal empire back In power. They
don’t have any common leader. There were several rebellious groups. They don’t have any sort of
plan but they were aiming to destroy British power. Sikhs and Hindus don’t want Muslims to rule
again on India so oppose Muslims too in this war. British were quite strong they have modern
weapons. They have common goal, they have a leader so unity was there in British army. They were
well trained and supported by their government through all means either its money, weapon etc.
British use its allies like Kashmir who sent a large number of soldiers o fight against Indians.
Rebellions destroyed property which displeased locals so they also supported Britishers. Sindhi’s and
Punjabi were also not supporting rebellious groups. There was no proper communication channel.
These were the major reasons why rebellious groups faced defeat against Britishers.
After this war it was clearly seen that Mughal Empire has come to its end. British became the new
ruler of India. EIC was abolished and Britain came to power. Viceroy was introduced who was
responsible to control India and representative of Britain. Major blame was put on Muslims head
and because of this British became anti Muslims. They stopped funding Muslim education systems and Muslims don’t wanna go to British schools so level of uneducated students start rising in Muslim
students. Sikh and Hindus allied with British and became friendly with them. After war British didn’t
allow Indians to keep weapon.

Muslim Scientists and their important work

Islam is one of the most renowned religion in current era. According to sources there are approximately 1.9 billion Muslims on earth which is almost 24.9 percent of total population and it is growing very rapidly and one of the major reasons is that it has very close relation with Science and current situations going on in the world. Allah chose Holy prophet (S.A.W) to spread teachings of Islam, all Muslims have a strong believe that Allah is our creator and Holy Prophet (S.A.W) is the last messenger and Holy Quran is the last holy book. Islam came to existence more than 1400 years ago but it contains knowledge regarding modern science and technology.

Modern scientists use high tech equipment to study nature and other hidden secrets of world which are already mentioned in Quran. Few examples are like reproduction ( Then He made [ man’s ] offspring out of the essence of a humble fluid. Quran, 32:8 ),  Astronomy ( He shaped the earth as an egg… Quran 79:30, Blessed be the One Who placed constellations in the sky and Who placed therein a lamp and a lighted moon.) .

There are similarities in Islam and science. Science is running after the unknown and Islam also encourages to seeking knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad said to seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave. The very first verse came down: ‘Read.’  Muslim scientists took inspiration from Quran and work really hard in field of science. Major topics in which Muslim scientists worked are Astronomy, Math, psychology, physics, medicine.

I would like to narrate some achievements of Muslim scientist in Astronomy  .The Islamic empire stretching from Moorish Spain, to Egypt and even China, entered their “Golden Age” and astronomy was of particular interest to Islamic scholars in Iran and Iraq and until this time around 800 AD, when Muslim scholars translated the only astronomical textbook that was Ptolemy’s Almagest, written around 100 AD in Greece.

Ibn Yunus – an astronomer from Egypt found errors in Ptolemy’s calculations about movements of planets and their eccentricities as Polemy was trying to find an explanation for how these bodies orbited in the sky, including movement of Earth within these parameters. Later on, Ibn Yunus found more mistakes, that in fact it was 1 degree every 70 years. However, they didn’t know that it was the Earth’s wobble causing this change because in the 10th century it was still believed that Earth was at the center of the universe. This discovery by Ibn Yunus and astronomers like Ibn al-Shatir changed the landscape of astronomy forever.

In 16th century Copernicus built the heliocentric model on this body of work.

In the 8th century under Caliph al-Mamun al-Rashid, the first observatory was built in Baghdad and subsequent observatories were built around Iraq and Iran. These tools, some as large as 40 meters, were critical to the learning of the angle of the sun, movement of the stars, and the understanding of the orbiting planets.

In 964 AD, astronomers Abd al-Rahman al-Sufi from Iran, published The Book of Fixed Stars, one of the most comprehensive texts on constellations in the sky.  He was also the first astronomer to detect the Andromeda galaxy and the Large Magellanic Cloud. These observations would have been made with the naked eye since telescope hadn’t yet been created. He stated it as a “cloud” in his notes as he didn’t know it was a galaxy at the time.

Later in 13th century, scientist and philosopher Nasir al-Din al-Tusi created the famous Tusi Couple. The purpose of this couple was to explain the apparent linear motion of certain heavenly bodies on the basis of circular motion. Ptolemy had trouble explaining this phenomenon so the Tusi couple was able to demonstrate linear motion out of the opposing directions by placing a smaller circle within a larger one. The Tusi Couple would later become critical to Copernicus’ understanding of these motions during his work in the Renaissance.

Work by astronomers Ibn al-Haytham, known as “the father of optics” helped developed the camera obscura and eventually aided in the development of the telescope.

In 859 AD the first university was built in Fez, Morocco. It was started by Fatima al-Fihri. Scholars of all religions from all over the world traveled there to study astronomy, math and philosophy.

An astronomical tool called Astrolabe was created by the Greek thinker Hipparcus but was perfected by islamic scientists. Mariam al-Astrulabi was a Syrian female astrolab maker from the 10th century, best known for perfecting the art of making these instruments which calculated the altitude of celestial bodies in the sky.

Still study of astronomy in Islamic countries is by no means over. Recently scientists in Qatar at the Qatar Exoplanet Survey announced their discovery of three new exoplanets orbiting around other stars.

About 200 stars bear names of Arabic astronomers who made significant contributions to astronomy. There are twenty four craters on moon’s surface named after the Muslim astronomers who’ve paved the way for the modern science and astronomy.

There are many verses related to astronomy in Quran, some are following:

“Do they not look at the sky above them, how We have built it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it.” –sura 50, verse 6

“God is the One Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see, then He firmly established Himself on the throne and He subjected the sun and moon . . .” -sura 13, verse 2

“For you (God) subjected the sun and the moon, both diligently pursuing their courses. And for you He subjected the night and the day.” -sura 14, verse 33

Studying the cosmos is something more ingrained in the international culture than meets the eye. If you’ve ever stared at the belt of Orion or Alcor and Mizar, the binary stars in the Big Dipper, then you’ve gotten a small glimpse into the legacy created by Muslim scientists around the world.

Books written by some Muslim scientist:

Al-Battani wrote Kitāb az-Zīj ( Book of Astronomical Tables )

Al-Farghani wrote Kitāb fī Jawāmi ( Compendium of the Science of the Stars )

Thābit translated from Greek into Arabic works by Apollonius of Perga, Archimedes, Euclid and Ptolemy. He revised the translation of Euclid‘s Elements of Hunayn ibn Ishaq. He also rewrote Hunayn’s translation of Ptolemy’s Almagest and translated Ptolemy‘s Geography. Thābit’s translation of a work by Archimedes which gave a construction of a regular heptagon was discovered in the 20th century, the original having been lost.

There are many contradictions too in between Islam and science. One of the major conflicts is because of faith as Muslims believe in only Allah and science oppose that. Muslims believe that every thing is created by Allah but science says there is no one behind this.  Islam has some ethics but science doesn’t have that. Science believe only on Facts and it doesn’t care about anything else, but Islam take different things into consideration like environment. According to Islam humans have value more than any thing but for science facts are above all even humans too.

In conclusion we can say there are many similarities in Islam and science because most of the theories science is proving in current era is already present in Islamic teachings and that also motivates Islamic scientists to put effort in this field and improve the standard of living and knowledge. On the other hand, there are conflicts too like in Faith, ethics, values etc.

Advertising & its Types

Advertising is basically is a communication channel through which firm can
transform the information to their potential customers. It is a marketing technique which is
carried by paying a certain amount to promote a product, service brand or anything
advertiser want his customer should know. Different channels and methods are use for
advertising like above the line marketing techniques, social media platforms, TV, news
paper etc. Advertising is done to reach the maximum potential customers so that query can
be generated, information can be transformed to them, misconceptions can be cleared or
any cause can be promoted.

There four type of advertising:

Persuasive:

Persuasive advertising is used to persuade our potential customers to buy the products
which are advertised. Main purpose is to evoke emotional response from our audience. You
persuade people to choose your brand over others. This type of advertising can be use to
change people perspective on your brand, product or service. Like You tubers do in their
videos they persuade their viewers to like, share and subscribe. Pepsi use to give sample
drinks so that they can persuade the customers to come and give Pepsi a good market share.
Safeguard also do persuasive advertisements where a doctor says that 9 out of 10 doctors
recommend Safeguard.

Informative:

Informative marketing is more about inform customers about the brand, product or
services. What does they actually do or how this product should be used, from where you
can get this product like from their e-store, you can inform customers new ways to use

product or service. For example Pakola do informative marketing like you can buy our
drinks from our websites or now you can mix our drink with to have new experience
pakola-milk or something like that. In this way are providing information to their
customers. You can also tell about the other services you provide with like an apparel
brand can advertise their new service that know we can recommend you how to carry our
dresses according to different occasions.

Reminder:

Reminder advertisement is use after the product has been accepted by the market. Like a
clothing can do reminder advertising to tell their customer that you can still buy this dress it
is still available on our store. Or they can use this advertisement for their deals or discounts
like this deal is still running you can avail it. The purpose of this advertisement to keep
your customer engage with your brands. So that brand or their product service remain on
top of their customer mind

Reinforcement:

Purpose of reinforcement advertising is to assure that your customer has made the right
choice by choosing your brand. You also tell them how to get the best result out of that
product and get more satisfaction. This type of advertising helps in maintaining the market
share. Like Coca cola make their customer realize that they have made the right choice to
reduce their thirst along with refreshing feeling. Automobile firms also make reinforcement
advertising in which they tell their customers have made the r=choice and they are satisfied
and enjoying special new features of their new car.
